We the people have big problems
- Inferior benefits, The richest country in the world, we should have world classs benefits. By law, Happier countries have
- universal health care
- free college education
- highly subsidized child care
- five weeks vacation
- stronger social safety net
- paid parental leave for the birth of a child (both parents)
- paid sick leave
- more generous pension systems
- Terrrible distribution of wealth, comparable to China, Russia, and India, much worse than the European democracies. All our money’s concentrated at the top.
How we can fix the problems
1.) End Trickle-Down. Going back to pre-Reagan income tax rates would allow a vast amount of wealth to be freed up — enough to:
• Fully fund the federal budget
• Undo much of the economic damage of the Trump era
• Buy down the national debt
• Provide world class benefits
2.) Overrule Citizens United. Getting big money out of politics would open public office to true patriots again — restoring a government of the people, by the people, for the people.
