Trickle Down
Predatory policies and Reagan’s Trickle-down (which didn’t do much for the GDP) robbed the working class of $50 trillion dollars.over Half the people have only 2.5% of the nation’s wealth. The American Dream is all but dead.
Trump’s policies are perpetuating trickle-down. His tariffs, trade war, and budget cuts are making the situation still worse.
If we the people all understood that, hundreds of millions of us would be furious. We’d be messaging Congress by the millions.
We’re an extremely rich nation and, by international standards, our taxes are quite low. There’s no need to tolerate inferior social programs.
Government should fix problems of the people and the nation that individuals can’t fix by themselves.
Messages for Congress
- Remove Trump from office ASAP
- Reject the House spending bill
- Restore pre-Reagan income tax codes
- Levy a progressive wealth tax
- Enforce the 20th century protections for working class wealth
- Develop 21st century social programs
- Pass universal health care
- Pass universal access to higher education
We could use the money to increase social security, build infrastructure, fight climate change, support public health, FAA, NOAA, NASA, USAID, medical research, and pure science.
If there’s inefficiency, waste, or corruption we should deal with it on an individual basis and not risk throwing out the baby with the bathwater.
