
Prices aren’t the problem. it’s who’s got the bread. For Trump and his ilk, the ones who instigated the tax cuts for the rich and really benefited from them, prices certainly pose no problem at all.
In 1800 a loaf of bread cost $0.05 and Alexander Hamilton’s New York mansion was worth $10,000. Now the prices are far higher, but we have a much higher standard of living.
In 1982, there were only 13 billionaires in the US. In 2023. after the Reagan/Bush/Trump tax cuts for the rich, there were seven hundred and forty eight of them and they owned as much as half of the rest of us put together.
