We the people have big problems
- Inferior Benefits The richest country in the world, we should have world class benefits. By law, happier countries have
- universal health care
- free college education
- highly subsidized child care
- five weeks vacation
- stronger social safety net
- paid parental leave for the birth of a child
- paid sick leave
- more generous pension systems
- Terrible distribution of wealth, comparable to China, Russia, and India, much worse than the European democracies.
How we can fix the problems
1.) End Trickle-Down. Going back to pre-Reagan income tax rates would allow a vast amount of wealth to be freed up — enough to:
• Fully fund the federal budget
• Buy down the national debt and start recovering from trickle-down
• Provide world class benefits to all the people
2.) Overrule Citizens United. Getting big money out of politics would open public office to true patriots again — restoring a government of the people, by the people, for the people.
